Journey of the Deported is an immersive experience at the Memorial of Internment and Deportation in Compiègne, located on the site of the former Royallieu camp. This installation combines technologies to offer a profound connection with the tragic realities of deportation during World War II.
The experience revolves around a videomapping projection. Visitors follow the journeys of various deportees, projected onto the walls and floor of an old camp dormitory, traversing places of internment and concentration camps. This installation aims to illustrate the geographical and human complexity of deportation by highlighting about fifteen selected paths that represent the diverse destinies of the internees.
